Neill started playing brass at an early age, starting on Baritone Horn, Euphonium and settling on Tuba. His first brass band was Irvine and Dreghorn Band, joining in 1998 in the Youth Band on Baritone Horn before progressing to BBb Bass in 2002 in the Senior Band. Several years later, Neill moved on to Kilmarnock Concert Brass and moved on to Johnstone Band, The Kirkintilloch Band and is currently playing in Kinneil Band.

Neill also plays in The Lowland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland where he received formal qualification in Musical Performance. He also plays as a freelance musician.

 Neill is a Composer, Arranger, Band Trainer and Tutor and works with bands and musicians across the UK.
